If you love BBQ Sauce and Mayonnaise you’re going to fall in love with this homemade Mayocue. Plus, it couldn’t be easier to make!
Mayocue
Yes, this is a real thing, this is actually happening. Put simply – Mayocue is essentially a combination of mayonnaise and BBQ sauce. BUT, like most recipes on this blog, I like to spruce things up a little (i.e take things too far). For the best dang BBQ mayo you’ll ever taste here’s what you’ll need:
- Mayo
- BBQ Sauce
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Smoked Paprika
- Onion & Garlic Powder
In it’s most simple form, you can just use BBQ sauce and mayo, but I highly recommend adding in the extra goodies for the ultimate flavour.
BBQ Mayo
Depending on how ‘barbequey’ you like you BBQ mayo, you might want to adjust, but I personally feel a 50/50 ratio works best.
How do you store BBQ Mayo?
I usually make this in advance (helps the flavours develop) and keep tightly covered in the fridge until needed. Keeps well for up to 3 days (longer at your discretion).
How can I use BBQ Mayo?
Use at as a dip for things like Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries, Wedges (all finger food recipes), spread it on burgers or even in wraps and pitas!
And there we have it! Mayocue aka the most incredible BBQ dip aka your new favourite obsession.

April 14, 2023 at 4:10 pmI don’t often get excited by sauces but this one is absolutely devine. I put it on everything, even on toast so the amazing flavor just stands alone, unhindered by any other flavors. There is always a jar in my fridge. Awesome

August 9, 2021 at 12:24 amIve been making BBQ/Mayo sauce for 30 plus years. Its a great spread for basic sandwiches, roast beef, ham, turkey…etc. But best on fried egg and sausage biscuits. Without adding to much more, a table spoon of cocktail sauce will add a pinch of spice which is perfect on fried clams, scallops, oysters and a nice addition to regular shrimp. When you do fresh fish fillets in the broiler, take a 2/3 mayo… mix with 1/2 bbq and 1/2 cocktail sauce and spread on top of fish… I like it… you may.
