Nugget Dipping Sauce Ingredients

I’ve popped all the quantities in the recipe card below, but let me just quickly go over each ingredient before we tuck in:

  • Mayonnaise – Must be full-fat for the fullest, creamiest flavour. This makes the bulk of the dip, so use your favourite brand.
  • Ketchup – Gives the sauce that lovely colour! It also fills out the flavour with a bit more body and gives it a nice ‘tang’.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – Gives the dip some depth and a good hit of umami.
  • Smoked Paprika – This is a must for a lovely smoky flavour that pairs perfectly with nuggets.
  • Onion Powder – Rounds off the savoury flavour of the dip.
  • Salt – Optional, just work to taste.

Nugget Dipping Sauce FAQ

what does this sauce taste like?

It’s creamy, smoky and a little tangy. My American friends tell me it’s similar to Raising Cane’s sauce; however, I’ve never tried it, so I can’t comment!

Can I make it in advance?

Yes, in fact, I recommend doing so. It’ll help all the flavours mingle and marry together.

How do I store this?

Tightly store it in the fridge, making sure to re-cover each time you use it. It should comfortably last 3-4 days (longer at your discretion).

Notes

a) Mayonnaise – Definitely make sure it’s full-fat for the fullest flavour; not light or dare I say EXTRA light (the horror). This makes the bulk of the sauce, so use a brand you like.
b) Resting – This dip tastes even better after resting. Even just 30 minutes does wonders!
c) Storage – This will certainly last at least 3-4 days tightly stored in the fridge (longer at your discretion).
